Use of cookies by Ellipsia and the ellipsia.fr website
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a text file that may be saved in a dedicated area of your device’s* hard drive when you use an online service through your browser. A cookie file allows its issuer to identify the device on which it is stored, for the period during which the cookie is valid or stored.
* “device” means the hardware (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) you use to consult or display a website, an application, advertising content, etc.
Which cookies do we use?
We use analytics cookies for statistics and research. We therefore use Google Analytics to understand how our site is used and how it performs, to compile statistics and data on traffic and on the use of its various elements (content visited, user journeys), and to help us make our content more relevant (the most frequently visited pages or sections, the most read articles, etc.).

Third-party cookies
Our site may contain cookies issued by third parties (in particular cookies that may be set by social media sharing links). The issuing and use of these cookies are subject to the policies of these third parties. We invite you to consult their websites for more information.
How to refuse or delete cookies
Whether a cookie is stored on a device essentially depends on the wishes of the device’s user, who can express and change them at any time, free of charge.
If you have allowed your browser to store cookies on your device, the cookies embedded in the pages and content you have viewed may be stored temporarily in a dedicated area of your device.
You can, however, refuse to have cookies stored on your device, or delete those already stored, through your browser settings.
Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can choose to block these cookies or ask your browser to warn you when a site tries to set a cookie on your device.
To change how your browser handles cookies, you can modify the settings in the privacy tab.
Each browser is configured differently for managing cookies and your choices. The configuration is described in your browser’s help menu, which will tell you how to change your cookie preferences:
For Internet Explorer
- In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, then Internet Options
- On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Settings
- Click the View files button
- Click the Name column header to sort all the files alphabetically, then scroll through the list until you see files beginning with the prefix “Cookie”. (All cookies have this prefix and usually contain the name of the website that created the cookie.)
For Firefox
- Go to the browser’s “Tools” tab, then select the “Options” menu
- In the window that appears, choose “Privacy” and click “Show cookies”
- Find the files, select them and delete them.
For Safari
- In your browser, choose the Edit > Preferences menu
- Click Security
- Click Show cookies
- Select the cookies and click Remove or Remove all
- After deleting the cookies, click Done.
For Google Chrome
- Click the Tools menu icon
- Select Options
- Click the Advanced options tab and go to the “Privacy” section
- Click the Show cookies button
- Select them and delete them
- Click “Close” to return to your browser
